Dr Likness is wonderful at truly listening to his patient. I feel like he “gets” what you’re saying & believes you. I have been to 2 or 3 drs in the last year about my mouth, tongue, lip, burning & soreness, & he is the first one to actually listen & proactively trying to find some answers & offering some things to try in the meantime. I have had the pocket in my left sinus that accumulates green mucus, because there is no natural drainage pathway like there should be for the secretions to drain since a failed sinus surgery years ago. So I am always fighting bacteria that grows in that pocket. He is the first dr to listen to me & is now actively addressing this cesspool of bacteria that my body has been fighting for years. I believe, Dr Likness is very very intelligent & up to date on the treatment options available today & is very proactive in treating with the newest options available in the medical field. Midwest ENT is a wonderful medical facility. I recently needed to see Dr. Tamura in short notice to look at my condition. They worked with me and got me an appointment in a reasonable time frame. All very kind to talk to. They are on schedule there and already know what tests are needed to be ready for the doctor. Ultrasound was very smooth and Dr. Tamura was even hands on for ultrasound. They allowed questions and answered with care. He had read my history and was knowledgeable right away. He gave me the time I needed even during a time he actually squeezed me in. I tried not to take more than necessary but I’m sure I probably did. He chose the right profession. Not only is he knowledgeable in his field but his gift is how he genuinely cares about you. I had a complication from wisdom teeth removal (from a different doctor) where I developed a oro-antral fistula, a hole between where my wisdom tooth was and my sinuses. Dr. Likness suggested a plan to solve my chronic sinus infection (due to the hole), fixed the hole, and fixed my breathing issues I didn’t know I had. It’s funny how long you can go without realizing it’s not normal to be unable to breathe through both of your nostrils. The surgery went great and he made me as comfortable as possible. He was super kind, knowledgeable and we were blown away with how fast they fit us in. I met with Dr. Todd at Midwest ENT to discuss having a revision septoplasty surgery after years of difficult breathing due to a failed septoplasty performed in my previous state of residence. The initial consultation with Dr. Todd was positive. I was allowed to watch the nasal endoscopy procedure on the television as it was performed and Dr. Todd described the various issues with my septum in detail. He expressed confidence in his ability to correct these issues and answered my questions and concerns. The surgery was scheduled about one month out. Dr. Todd met with me on the day of to go over the procedure and express confidence. Now, a little over two weeks since surgery, I am breathing perfectly out of both sides of my nose for the first time since my injury. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Todd and the team at Midwest ENT. Seeing Dr. Tamura, M.D. for the first time was overall a good experience. I was referred to Midwest ENT and I was able to get an appointment scheduled quickly, within two weeks I believe. The desk clerk, Sue, is friendly, personable, patient, a kind woman who did an excellent job checking me in as a new patient. It took a little bit considering I was a new patient and at one point the computer and printer didn't want to cooperate, nonetheless, she kept her calm. I was appreciative of her assistance and patience as other patients were coming into the practice needing to check in. Our youngest son had his tonsils out a few years ago by Dr. Todd. Our oldest now needs his out and we will be having Dr. Todd perform his surgery. He is very knowledgeable and will go over all options. He also explains it precise and to the point. He was great with both our boys. The clinic staff was helpful and friendly. It was easy to get an appointment. They tried to get the paperwork to me in the mail before we arrived, but it didn't come so I just filled it out in the waiting room. The building and rooms are clean. They ask that everyone wears masks and only one person with a minor can come in. They also ask that you wait outside in the hall until they call you up to a desk. I have been coming to Midwest Ear, Nose & Throat for five years now and the whole staff has always very helpful. The exam to determine my type of hearing loss was well explained. The audiologist staff was very helpful with choosing my first set of hearing aids and working through the insurance forms. The regular checkups of the hearings aids kept them in top working condition along with keeping them set to my specific hearing needs. I recently updated my hearing aids and my audiologist Melissa Baker was very helpful with choosing a new set of hearing aids and working through the insurance process again. Once the new aids came in she was very helpful with all my questions and if she didn't have answers she found them. I am very pleased with the clinic, the staff and their very friendly attitude. Dr. Helvig at Midwest Ear, Nose, & Throat is very knowledgeable, thorough, and capable. She removed a cyst from inside my neck successfully and painlessly. She explained everything in detail every step of the way in an attempt to calm my nerves. She visited with me right before to procedure to answer any questions. You don't always see your doctor just before they operate on you. She was even the one who removed the staples when they were ready to come out. Some doctors pass off that task to someone else like a nurse. Her support staff was very professional and friendly. My mom is 96 years old...she has awesome hearing aids and very acommodating service. Her hearing is very important since she lost her eye sight through glaucoma 2 years ago.
