Appointments and Registration

Appointment Scheduling:

Our schedules fill up fast, so please call as early as possible for the best selection of appointment times. The scheduling staff will work with you to find an appointment time and location that will meet your needs to the best of our ability. If you feel your medical condition requires more attention, please ask to speak to a triage nurse or an office manager. Please ask the staff member about medical information, test results, and imaging studies that you should bring for the MWENT physician to review. Bringing all of your pertinent medical information and imaging studies to the first appointment will greatly improve the quality and timeliness of your first consultation.

Phones will only be answered during normal office hours. After hour calls will go to the answering service for urgent call only.

Your First Visit – Patient Registration:

Please plan to arrive about 15 minutes early for your first visit so that we can complete your records. Bring your medical insurance card, driver’s license or identification card, and any important medical records, including any recent test results and CT scan films that should be given to the doctors. Please inform us about any health problems, allergies, and medications that you are taking. Please bring all insurance information including insurance cards and, if necessary, your HMO referral. We also re register returning patients every 6 months, or more frequently if you have new problems, or if any information should change. Your copay and any outstanding balance will be collected prior to seeing the physician.

Office Schedule:

We make a sincere attempt to adhere to the appointment schedule as closely as possible. We appreciate the value of your time and dislike long waiting periods. However, patients do not become ill at pre-determined times, and surgery may take longer than anticipated in some cases. Because of this, we may sometimes run behind schedule. If this happens when you are scheduled to be seen, we shall offer you the option to wait, return for a later appointment, or reschedule for another day. Your patience and understanding in these situations is greatly appreciated. We are very grateful for the sympathetic responses so many of our patients have shown under these extreme circumstances.

After Your Visit With The Doctor:

After your examination, your doctor may give you prescriptions, instructions, or other recommendations. We encourage you to ask any questions at that time. At the conclusion of your visit, the reception staff will give you a charge slip for services provided that day, as well as information regarding your next appointment, if one is necessary. An appointment may be scheduled at the end of your appointment or you may choose to call to make an appointment.

Canceling or Rescheduling Appointments:

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you must cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Emergency Appointments and Walk-ins:

All patients are seen by scheduled appointment. We do make allowances for emergency referrals, and walk ins are welcome to see our Nurse Practioner. We do our utmost to schedule your appointment according to your personal needs, as well as your doctor's. New patients are usually seen on specific days of the week to allow for additional examination time. Some doctors set aside certain office hours for patients with similar diagnoses, and therefore we schedule these patients accordingly. Please arrange routine appointments as far in advance as possible.

Surgery Scheduling:

If you have questions regarding surgery or need to set a date for surgery, your call will be directed to the surgery schedulers. The best time to call is early morning (9:00 to 10 a.m.) or mid-afternoon (2:00 to 4 p.m.). During the day, surgery schedulers are constantly on the phone. If you can not get through, please leave them a detailed voice mail message and they will return your call as soon as possible.
